BECOME A MASTER BOXER

What do I need to compete as a master boxer?

First, you must be 35 years of age or older in order to compete as a master boxer. This is an amateur division sanctioned by USA Boxing so no pros or former pros in combat sports (Boxing, MMA, Kickboxing) can compete in the division. To compete you must first register with USA Boxing as a Master Boxer. You will be required to have a physical done (if 45 years of age or older you must have an EKG done every 5 years.) and cleared as fit to box by your physician. Once you have been cleared by your Doctor and have all the proper paperwork done, you would need to send the required paperwork to your local boxing commission. It can take 2 to 3 weeks to receive your yellow passbook and once you receive it you just need your Doctor to sign it and you are ready to compete. When you sign up to compete, make sure your physical and EKG results are in your passbook or you will not be able to compete.
